For most people website conversion and SEO are like the movie Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde; you test your own experiments on yourself – sometimes you make brilliant discoveries and sometimes you create a monster. One of the ‘brilliant discoveries’ in the search for increasing website conversion is the development of online split testing. With split testing, webmasters are finally able to test multiple versions of their index pages simultaneously to see which version receives the highest conversion rate. Split testing has allowed people (including ourselves), to take websites from 0.5 or 0.8% conversion, clear up to 2, 3, and even 4%, without getting any additional traffic to their sites.

    Thanks for the good advice. It’s very true. Having worked in sales for a while, you simply can’t survive without split testing. It lets you know what is working and what isn’t. I was just looking for some color printing when I bumped into your post. Thanks for reminding us all of a great practice!
