1) Find out what SSL certificate your hosting company uses and place that SSL image on your index page. People want to know their information is safe and secure, and showing them a Verisign logo or some other SSL company logo will ease customers security issues up front.
2) Add Credit Card images. If you sell things on your site, make sure to add the credit card and other payment logos on your index page. These companies spend millions on brand recognition, so you might as well use it to your advantage. Plus people instantly know that they can buy products from you.
3) Put your phone number in a prominent place. Again, if you are selling products, make it easy for them to contact you. You will be suprised at how many more orders you will get just by having your number in a prominent place on your page.
Don’t forget to continually using split testing to find the optimal position for your various website credibility information. Just moving something by a few pixels can often affect your conversion rate.
