Website Credibility Makes More Money

You could have a great website with everything a customer could ever need, but if they don’t trust you, they won’t buy from you.  One of the easiest things you can do as a website owner is to add credibility to your website.  Here are a few of the easiest, fastest ways to add credibility and improve your sales and conversion at the same time.

1) Find out what SSL certificate your hosting company uses and place that SSL image on your index page.  People want to know their information is safe and secure, and showing them a Verisign logo or some other SSL company logo will ease customers security issues up front.

 2) Add Credit Card images.  If you sell things on your site, make sure to add the credit card and other payment logos on your index page.  These companies spend millions on brand recognition, so you might as well use it to your advantage.  Plus people instantly know that they can buy products from you.

3) Put your phone number in a prominent place.  Again, if you are selling products, make it easy for them to contact you.  You will be suprised at how many more orders you will get just by having your number in a prominent place on your page.

Don’t forget to continually using split testing to find the optimal position for your various website credibility information.  Just moving something by a few pixels can often affect your conversion rate.

    We’ve found that the single biggest confidence-creator is our phone number. Of course, our Auction Genius Course is pretty expensive and not the average $20 purchase. But time and again, we’ve had people comment how impressed they are by the fact that they can pick up the phone and call us. Most websites either don’t have a phone number or if they do, it’s not answered. Of course, giant companies have phones & available personnel, but it’s relatively rare with a smaller home biz. It’s definitely worth testing!

    You have to bulid customer loyalty. It is the number one important aspect of doing business with customers. If they don’t trust you they won’t buy from you, end of story. I know. I did a promotion on color printing and I can tell those that ordered from me did so with confidence because I spent the time needed to build customer loyalty.

    You are so right, trust is everything. Customer loyalty is nothing to knock, whether you are selling zippo lighters or anything else for that matter. Without your customers, you basically don’t have a business. Keep that in mind when working with people.
